Psc
Glossary
PSC
A Person of Significant Control (PSC) is an individual who ultimately owns or controls more than 25% of a UK company, or who exercises significant influence over it by other means.
PSCs must be recorded on the company's PSC register and at Companies House. Changes (new shareholders crossing the 25% threshold, an existing PSC stepping back) must be reported within 14 days internally and then on the next confirmation statement or sooner. Failing to maintain the PSC register is a criminal offence — both for the company and for officers in default. The PSC framework was introduced in 2016 to bring UK corporate ownership into the open and disrupt money laundering through anonymous structures.
