    Directors Annual Compliance Checklist

    Template

    Director's annual compliance checklist

A single-page checklist covering every UK statutory filing and review a director should make sure has happened each year.

Who it’s for: Directors of UK limited companies

    How to use

    Follow these steps

    1. Confirmation statement at Companies House

Once every 12 months (the due date is your confirmation date). Confirm registered office, directors, PSCs, share capital, shareholders, SIC codes.

    2. Annual accounts at Companies House

Due 9 months after the company''s accounting reference date for private companies. Micro-entity, small, medium, or full accounts depending on size criteria.

    3. Corporation Tax return (CT600) and payment

CT600 due 12 months after the period end; payment due 9 months and 1 day after the period end (those are different dates — payment first, return later).

    4. Director''s Self Assessment

Due 31 January following the tax year end. Even if you''re paid through PAYE, you may need to register for Self Assessment if you have dividend income above the allowance, untaxed savings income, or other reportable items.

    5. Annual review of insurances and contracts

Employers'' liability (if any employees), public liability, professional indemnity if relevant, cyber. Renew or replace lapsing supplier and customer contracts.

    6. PSC register check

Confirm that the company''s PSC register matches reality — every individual owning or controlling >25%, or with significant influence, must be listed.
