SIC codes explained: how to choose the right one
A SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) code is a 5-digit code describing what your UK company actually does, used on the Companies House register. You pick 1-4 codes at incorporation. The current edition is UK SIC 2007, being replaced by UK SIC 2026.
Choosing a business name in the UK: rules and checks
A UK company name must be unique on Companies House, must not be "too like" an existing name, must include "Limited" or "Ltd" for private companies, and must not contain prohibited words without permission.
